First Glimpse
A first glimps of the TAM offers a unique look at what future computing will entail as well as some features that have never been used again. From its flat and thin head unit to the built in removeable trackpad and original keyboard design with leather palm rests, the TAM was certainly the absolute best in home computing and also had the steep pricetag for acquiring this work of art.
At the time of the TAM's debut in June of 1997, the price was a cool 7499.00, even by today's standards that was a lot for a computer, but then again it was an anniversary novelty and designed with that in mind as the creators' montage states: "it's about celebrating the last twenty years, and heralding the next twenty," this was certainly not your every day Macintosh.
At a limited run of 12,000 units, select countries, and only available through key dealers and online merchants, availibilty was scarce for this product, so scarce that after its release Apple only offered repair for it in three locations worldwide.
